The diffuse or localized, acute or chronic, partial or total decrease in hair or hair density is called alopecia. A normal hair has 100,000 to 160,000 hairs.
Every day, 30 to 80 hairs are renewed. There are seasonal variations, with a greater drop in the spring and an even greater drop in August and September. A hair loss of more than 100 hairs per day is always excessive.
Several possible origins:
- Acute stress
- Fatigue
